WORKING WELL TOGETHER DESIGNER CDM EVENT
Designer Awareness Day – Preventing Occupational Disease through Design
The Working Well Together (WWT) Anglia Group has announced a Designer Awareness Day to be held on Tuesday 9th May 2017 at Landmark House, 4 Egerton Road, Ipswich, IP1 5PF.
WWT is an industry led partnership that aims to improve health and safety standards within the construction industry. The goal is to help achieve a meaningful and sustained reduction in injury and ill-health within the construction industry.
WWTC stress that:
“Designers have a crucial role to play in improving the health and safety performance of the construction industry. WWT Designer Awareness Days help people with design responsibilities understand how to address, mitigate or eliminate risks during the design phase and in doing so, meet the standards expected of them.
The event is supported by professional institutions in the construction industry and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The event will give valuable information on how your design can help prevent occupational disease to construction workers. Certificates will be issued at the end of the seminar.”
About the Speaker
Philip Baker is a designer by training and has been heavily involved in CDM since 1995. Philip has worked on a wide range of projects as PS/CDM-C/PD and has advised the full range of duty holders on how they can discharge their duties effectively. Philip is a past president of the Association for Project Safety, a Certified Fellow and the current Chair of the APS London Regional Committee.
