NEW SHORT AND SIMPLE CONSTRUCTION SAFETY GUIDES

HSE puts SMEs at the heart of communications and publications strategy

The HSE construction sector is focusing it’s communications strategy at SMEs and high risk activity. A number of short leaflets have now been published under the ‘Busy Builder’ brand and which have been updated recently.

    The current suite comprises:

A revised HSG 47 – Avoiding danger from Underground Services and HSG 150 – Health and Safety in Construction will be published later in 2013.

HSG 150 is the core HSE guidance document for the construction industry and is being revised to better meet the needs of SMEs.

Further Busy Builder sheets to be published by the end of 2014 include:

    • stone-cutting and other cancer-causing dusts
    • public protection
    • good order
    • fragile roofs (not construction-specific).
