University College London seeks online views on knowledge and awareness
University College London are conducting a survey to better understand how universities are teaching health and safety in construction to undergraduates.
UCL will be:
“Looking into the knowledge and awareness of graduates with health and safety regulations, concepts and how different methods of teaching prepare students for the nature of the work they go into.
The outcome of this research is to look into improving the teaching of health and safety in universities.”
The Survey aims to collect as much data as possible from students who graduated between 2011 and 2016 (inclusive). The online questionnaire should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
Respondents are asked to answer the questions based solely on their degree and not using any knowledge gained through training courses or on the job experience with employers.
The survey chimes with one of the HSE Priorities 2017 Onwards which involves “working with professional bodies to enhance the competence of designers through the effective teaching of design risk mitigation across built environment higher education courses”
