    Jib ‘snapped’ in half and workman suffers head injuries

    It has been reported by London24 that a tower crane has collapsed near the Providence Tower development in Docklands leaving one workman with serious head injuries.

    Fire crews attended the incident with paramedics retrieving the trapped man who was taken to the Royal London Hospital.

    Posting on Twitter, Josh Layton is reported to have written wrote:

    “Crane looks as though it has snapped in half. No word on casualties but emergency crews on scene.

    Workman was rescued by colleagues using another crane. He is talking to paramedics at the scene.”

    The skyscraper is due to be completed in December 2015 and will comprise 340 luxury flats and 144 affordable apartments.
