Road worker dies after being hit by reversing lorry on M8
It has been reported by the BBC that a road worker has died after being struck by a lorry as he carried out worked on the M8 near Glasgow Airport.
It is believed the deceased workman died after being hit by a reversing tipper truck at 23:40 on Monday on the viaduct near Junction 28.
Police said the 33-year-old was hit by a Scania tipper lorry and died at the scene.
The section of motorway was closed until 05:25 on Tuesday.
HSE has been informed and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
