Demolition News first edition includes focus on demolition dust
A new magazine has been launched by Demolition News including a free online version. Initially, the magazine will be available in printed format only in the UK and Ireland and electronically elsewhere.
The first issue includes an examination (12 pages) of systems and solutions to suppress dust arising from demolition operations.
In December 2011 the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) published two relevant guides:
- Air Quality Monitoring in the Vicinity of Demolition and Construction Sites 2012 – guidance on air quality monitoring in the vicinity of demolition and construction sites; and
- Dust Guidance 2012 – designed to provide guidance for developers, their consultants and environmental health officers on how to assess impacts from construction sites. The Dust and Air Emissions Mitigation Measures document accompanies these recommendations.
The Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) aims to enhance understanding and development of the science behind air quality by promoting knowledge and understanding of best working practices.
