Low fall from ladder on major college project causes serious head injury
The North West Evening Mail has reported that a 33-year-old plasterer has suffered serious head injury after a 6ft fall from a step ladder on a new college project in Furness. The injured man has been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital, which specialises in head injury treatment.
The new $41m Furness College building is due to be handed over by the contractor on December 19 2011.
A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust said:
“We were called to Furness College at 9.40am on December 5 to a 33-year-old man who has fallen from a ladder and had suffered a head injury. He was taken to Furness General Hospital.
The project manager for Eric Wright Construction site team, said the incident was still being investigated so he was unable to comment. HSE has confirmed it is investigating the incident
