New NHS service seeks to promote the benefits of good health at work
The Health4Work adviceline is co-ordinated by NHS Plus, a network of more than 160 NHS occupational health services across England who, seek to promote the benefits of good health at work and help build healthy and productive workforces.
The Adviceline provides “free, quick and easy access to effective professional advice and guidance in this key area.” Small business managers can secure expert advice and support to help team members experiencing ill health. The service is intended to help SMEs:
find the advice and support needed to help an employee experiencing ill health;- develop a plan to effectively and sympathetically deal with employee sickness absence;
- establish how to deal with similar problems in the future, should they occur;
- think differently about your business and the investment you could make in a healthy workplace.
The Adviceline can be contacted on 0800 0778844 during working hours providing access to a local professional to discuss your specific requirements. The website also provides a callback form for contact outside working hours.
