Plant operator died at quarry site after excavator toppled into deep water

The Northumberland Gazette has reported that an excavator operator has died after an incident at a Northumberland quarry.

Emergency services attended Longhoughton Quarry on 19th November after the operator was found in ‘deep water’. The man was recovered and treated at the scene. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

Police and HSE are making inquiries into the incident.
