Workman has died in incident at former Cadbury factory involving ‘digger’
It has been reported by Keynsham People that a workman has died at the Somerdale factory in Keynsham. Police were called to the former Cadbury plant following the “sudden death involving a digger”. HSE has been informed.
This is Bath has stated that the man died instantly after falling some 100ft whilst working on a “small mechanical digger”. There was a delay in recovering his body because of safety concerns.
A spokeswoman for the HSE said that they attended on Wednesday and are working with the police to examine the scene.
A spokesman from the Avon and Somerset Police said they were “keeping an open mind” regarding the death. The dead man is believed to be from Wales. The factory closed in March when production was transferred abroad.
