Workman electrocuted whilst working in MEWP close to high voltage powerline
It has been reported that a 29-year-old man has been electrocuted as he used a hydraulic cherry picker near an overhead powerline in a disused quarry in Brize Norton , Oxfordshire.
The workman is understood to have been ”thrown from the machine after the surge of power hit him”. It is not known what the cherry picker was being used for at the quarry
An air ambulance, paramedics and police attended the site in Burford Road. However, the victim, who has not yet been positively identified, died in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
HSE has started an investigation has been launched.
