Concrete car park structure collapses on major construction project
It has been reported that a car park concrete floor slab has collapsed at a construction site in the city of Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning province claiming the lives of 12 construction workers. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital and their injuries are not life-threatening.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is under way. The underground parking area was under construction at the time when the ”concrete ceiling” collapsed.
There have been other tragic incidents recently. Last week, 12 workers died at a steel plant in the eastern city of Nanjing when molten iron spilled from a furnace and one day earlier at least 13 people died in a coal mine explosion in the southwestern province of Guizhou.
