Engineer crushed by falling equipment at hoist and access company premises
The Royston Weekly News has reported that a construction engineer has died after being crushed by falling equipment at Universal Building Supply near Royston, Hertfordshire.
It is understood that deceased man had worked as a hoist and tower crane engineer for 25 years and had worked for the company for about two years. An unamed former colleague at Universal Builders Supply told the newspaper:
“I worked with him a number of years ago. He was a lovely bloke. He was crushed by equipment that fell on him when they were doing operation moves on the site. It was a tragic accident.”
HSE confirmed they were aware of the accident and conducting an investigation in collaboration with Cambridgeshire police.
