Roof cleaning contractor pays price of ’blatant disregard’ for safety
Aquacoat Ltd has been ordered to pay almost £15,000 in fines and prosecution costs after workmen were found at risk on the roof of a domestic property in Swadlincote, Derbyshire on 15 June 2010.
HSE inspectors found the two workmen on the roof without safety equipment to prevent falls whilst cleaning the roof of the property. This unsafe system of work risked injury to the workmen and the homeowner.
