New safety management system designed for greater clarity on compliance
HSE has made available a draft of the first two sections of a ‘refreshed’ version of HSG65 Successful health and safety management
The ‘refreshed’ standard is designed to complement existing HSE guidance for SMEs engaged in low risk activities. It will focus more on those organisations that are more complex or have a higher level of risk to control.
It is intended to simplify HSE advice and provide greater clarity on what compliance looks like when managing health and safety.
The model used for the existing HSG65 will be abandoned in favour of the structure: ”Plan; Do, Check, Act” although the relationship between the two is explained within the refreshed guidance.
IOSH is seeking comments on the draft by 6th September.
