Construction worker dies as drilling rig collapses on Melbourne site
A short video illustates the scene of ’drilling rig’ collapse at a Southbank building site in Melbourne, Australia.
An ambulance spokesman said:
”He fell, together with a piece of equipment off the machinery, and our paramedics treated him for quite some time, but unfortunately he died at the scene”
The government regulator is investigating. The workman is believed to have just started work at the site and was ”wearing a harness up near the top of the rig” when the whole rig fell some 20m to the ground.
