Dramatic footage as flats under construction are razed to the ground
The BBC has published video footage of a huge fire has brought down a block of flats under construction in Glasgow.
The fire rapidly spread through the flats which subsequently collapsed. The area was cordoned off and some people in nearby buildings were evacuated. There are no reports of any injuries.
Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said:
“the fire was contained within the construction site with firefighters preventing serious fire spread to nearby flats. Firefighters remain on the scene to ensure all pockets of fire are fully extinguished.”
