Estate agents shocked as beam fell three floors to ground-floor reception

The Lancashire Evening Post has reported that the Health and Safety Executive has brought proceedings against Pocklington Steel Structures Ltd.

The case follows an incident in which a steel girder crashed through the roof of a Preston estate agent. It is understood the beam fell from a crane during construction of a Premier Inn hotel.

The company is accused of breaching HSW Act Section 3 and will appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday August 18 2010.
