Workman died during maintenance work on power station cooling tower
Legal proceedings have commenced in respect of a company following an incident in which a workman died at a North Wales power plant operated by E-on in 2007. Michael Benn, 37, from Fife, Scotland, died after falling into a cooling water chamber.
Epsco Ltd has appeared before magistrates in Flintshire and the case committed to Mold Crown Court for a hearing in September.
The company is charged is charged with not ensuring health and safety and failing to assess the risks involved in cleansing and disinfecting a cooling tower.
