Roads closed and construction work suspended on gas danger fear

The BBC has reported road chaos around a new Tesco site in Stoke-on-Trent following a suspected gas leak on 13th August 2010.

The site, was evacuated and construction work suspended while engineers replaced pipework. Tony Fletcher of Tesco, said the suspected leak and repairs would not delay the planned opening in November.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said fire crews attended the scene as a precaution.
