BUILDER SURVIVES LADDER INCIDENT IN CHURCH

HSE investigate fall to concrete floor during church refurb work

The Tottenham Journal has reported that a local builder has survived a 5m fall from a ladder in a busy church just before the service started.

The St Mary’s Anglican Church congregation saw the 42-year-old workman fall and break his fall by grabbing a nearby wooden screen. He was taken to the Royal London Hospital with a head injury.

Parishioner William Spring said:

“He fell on to a concrete hall in a church. We thought he was dead. If he hadn’t broken his fall he could have been killed. I believe he only suffered minor injuries because of it. In my own view it’s a miracle.”
