ROADWORKER STRUCK BY CAR AND SERIOUSLY INJURED

White lining workman hit by passing vehicle and driver arrested

The Courier has reported that a 45 yearold roadwoker has been hit whilst working on the A92 in Scotland, part of the main route from Glenrothes to Dundee. The workman is employed by Ringway and was involved in painting white lines at the time of the incident.

The man was treated in an intensive care unit before being transfer to a General Hospital in Edinburgh. His co-worker sustained back injuries but was released shortly after treatment.

A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.

A Ringway spokespersons said: 

“We are doing what we can to assist the family and our thoughts are with them and with the two employees injured. We cannot comment further at this stage until the police investigation is concluded.”

Chief Inspector David McCulloch lead investigator said:

“I would appeal to anybody who may have witnessed this incident or saw a blue Peugeot 106 being driven northward on the A92 around midnight to contact the police by calling 0845 600 5702.”
