Two die in tower crane collapse as female operator escapes with her life

The Daily Mail has reported that a female crane operator has survived a 100m fall from the top of a 33-storey building.

Two co-workers died in the collapse yet she escaped with broken bones after the tower crane cab fell to the ground in Sichuan province, south-west China.

It is reported that the incident occured during operations to increase the height of the crane – known as ‘climbing’. UK tower crane users working with the industry body and regulators have recently produced new training material concerning the climbing of tower cranes.
