Innovative solution to working at height from a ladder
Work Safe has developed a ladder based product that “turns a ladder into a platform”. It is presented as a “low cost and flexible alternative” to ”tower platforms, scaffolding and powered lift platforms”.
The design was driven by ”the HSE requirement for a minimum of three points of contact when using a ladder”. The product was developed with a pre-cast concrete company where work required both hands to hold a pipe delivering the concrete.
Comment
A interesting product development. The ladder looks wider than a similar sized conventional ladder which should aid sideways stability. The small stub arms on the top and bottom of the platform will also help. Where the ladder platform is placed over the top of a flat surface it would appear to improve resistance to outward slip at the bottom.
