Council and driver fined after one-way system ignored in depot
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council has been ordered to pay £50,000 in fines and prosecution costs following death of an employee who died after being struck by an excavator at the council highways depot.
The driver of the excavator was also prosecuted and ordered to pay £1200 in fines and costs. The excavator was being driven the wrong way on a one-way system at the time of the death.
