Dutch company fits cameras to tower crane fleet
Cranes Today has reported that Dura Vermeer, the Dutch construction firm has fitted camera systems to the 20 or so tower cranes used by the firm.
The systems are designed to assist the crane operators and improve safety providing improved load and site visibility.
It is reported that “The camera/monitor system includes a wireless auto focus zoom camera system that is fitted on the trolley. The zoom camera is attached above the winch, so the machine operator can zoom in on the load or zoom out for an overview of the lifting site as required. The camera from Orlaco is also equipped with a battery that automatically charges when the trolley is in the starting position.”
