Monthly reports of construction sector fatal injuries October 2009

HSE publish ‘as reported’ fatal injury information each month. This is as reported by third parties and does not purport to be a formal statistical release. Subsequent HSE investigation may determine that some are not reportable under RIDDOR. 

The reports for October 2009 have now been added to the database including the following deaths that appear to be construction related.

1. 01/10 Herefordshire – fall from height
2. 15/10 Glasgow - struck by falling object
3. 22/10 Cumbria - fall from height
4. 27/10 North Devon – overturned vehicle
5. 29/10 Hull – fall from height

The death of Kenneth Campbell on 18/10/2009 is indicated as ‘construction’ but appears to have occurred in a quarry when a vehicle overturned.
