Workman injured as bus hits scaffold in town centre
A scaffold has collapsed after being struck by a bus in Louth, Lincolnshire causing injury to a constuction worker who fell 6m from the top lift.
The scaffold had been erected over the weekend at a restaurant to enable painting of the structure. The man was taken to Grimsby Hospital and treated for facial and leg injuries.
A witness said: “We came round the corner; the sun was really bright in the driver’s eyes. Then we all heard a huge bang, everyone jumped and freaked out and we felt the scaffolding land on the bus. HSE is investigating with the Fire and Rescue Service.
