Bridge failure during concrete pour leaves five workers dead
A bridge under construction in the tiny Pyrenees principality of Andorra on the French / Spanish border has collapsed claiming the lives of at least 5 workers.
Other workers have been hospitalised after the concrete road bridge failed on Saturday 7th November. Emergency services worked throughout the night to rescue a man trapped to the waist in rubble. Sadly, he died shortly after being pulled from the debris.
It is understood that some 20m of the concrete structure collapsed shortly after a concrete pour.
