Workmen killed and colleague seriously injured during streetworks
The Herts and Essex Observer has reported that a workman has died and a co-worker seriously injured when hit by a car during road sign maintenance work. The injured man is described as in a stable condition in a Cambridge hospital.
Police have arrested a 19-year-old driver on suspicion of careless driving and HSE have been informed.
Essex Police said: “As a result of a collision the VW Golf left the road and struck the two men who were carrying out maintenance work on a street sign adjacent to the road.”
