ROOF FALL DEATH DURING DEMOLITION

Migrant worker falls through roof on Aberdeenshire demolition site

The Aberdeen Press and Journal has reported that a Latvian construction worker has died after falling from the roof of a disused factory in Fraserburgh.

The 57-year-old is said to have been involved in demolition of the structure prior to the building of a new bakery. We understand that a mobile elevating work platform may have been involved in the incident.

A Police spokesperson said: “Officers, along with the Scottish Ambulance Service, went to the commercial premises at College Bounds after it was reported that a man had been seriously injured. As a result of the incident, the 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.” HSE inspectors are investigating with the police.
