Falling pipe causes serious injury at power plant construction site

The GMB trades union has reported a serious accident at the Staythorpe power plant site in Nottinghamshiren. 

Andy Fletcher of GMB has stated that a pipe fell on to a worker, crushing his legs and that the injured man was taken to hospital by air ambulance. HSE inspectors will be investigating the incident.

This news follows an earlier report by GMB regarding an incident involving a falling 5 tonne load during a lifting operation.
