Fall from stepladder onto spiked fence could have proved fatal
US emergency personnel carried a cable installation workman to an ambulance after he fell from a ladder and impaled his legs on a fence.
The Comcast cable employee had propped his ladder against a ‘utility pole’ and after falling he landed on a black wrought-iron fence impaling his legs on the 6″ spikes. He was left stranded dangling backwards and screaming for help.
The Fire Chief said: “He was just kind of skewered there”. As he was wheeled away, a paramedic told him that on reflection he would think ”That wasn’t a very good idea”. The man responded: “I already know”.
Comment: A similar incident could easily have occured at one of the most famous addresses in GB to which this further photograph attests!
