Controlled explosion makes safe German World War II bomb
A bomb discovered on a construction site in Sussex has been made safe with a controlled explosion. Children at a nearby school were evacuted and 50m cordon was established during the controlled blast.
Goundwork was being undertaken when the excavator driver spotted a suspicious metal object. The BBC video shows the bomb being protected and the subsequent explosion.
