Seminar on designing health and safety into construction
HSE is inviting designers to “find out how they can prevent many of the routine health and safety issues faced by contractors”. The one-day seminar on 21 May 2009 will be based at the newly constructed Maternity and Oncology Centre, University Hospital of North Staffordshire
The aim is to provide guidance for designers on construction health and safety and the expected standards under CDM 2007. The seminar is supported by professional associations and the day will include:
- Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 – HSE
- Case Study Overview – HKS Architects Ltd of the Maternity & Oncology Centre building, University Hospital of North Staffordshire
- Site visit – Maternity and Oncology Centre
- How CDM has influenced the design
- Designers Risk Assessments – Managing CDM Ltd
- Construction methodology – Laing O’Rourke
