Prosecution ends in architect removal from professional register 

Gillian Beckingham has been removed from the The Architects Registration Board (ARB), the independent statutory regulator of all UK registered architects, three years after her conviction for H&S offences involving the deaths of at least five people from Legionnaires’ disease at arts centre Forum 28 in 2002. The Arb Professional Conduct Committee which under two hours.  Ms Beckingham retired on medical grounds, and has not practised since. 

Arb professional standards manager Simon Howard said: “She has already suffered a penalty – it was not the intention [of the committee] to punish her again, but they had to consider the profession’s reputation, and the risk to the public. They hope she will be well enough to reapply to the register in due course.”
