Campaign moves to engage developers at Olympia Show
HSE is currently running a campaign to increase health and safety awareness among those involved in developing property as part of their business. Research shows that many small-scale developers do not know about the legal responsibilities of clients under CDM 2007.
Some developers may be tempted to cut corners and HSE is cautioning that “compromising on safety can cost lives, as well as money”. The Landlord and Buy-to-Let Show at Olympia on 20 and 21 March will be attended by Robert Parkes from HSE’s Construction Sector and others on hand to give advice on developing property safely.
Chris Tisi, Campaign Stakeholder Chair said: “I’ve been involved in development of property in various capacities over 35 years and found that health and safety has to be an integral part of any project in bringing it to completion on time and to budget. In my experience, a safe and healthy site is a successful site.”
