Family of electrocuted scaffolder demand a public inquiry
The family of Ralph Kennedy a scaffolder who was electrocuted at work in 2006 have called for a public inquiry. Mr Kennedy died after he touched a light fitting during the handling of scaffolding at flats in Camden, London in September 2006.
Camden Council has already pleaded guilty to offences under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act and will be sentenced at the Old Bailey on 23 March 2009. A spokesman said: “We are extremely sorry for Mr Kennedy’s tragic death and have … accepted liability in relation to the civil claim. Safety of our residents, staff and visitors is a top priority to us and we continue to ensure that we have effective systems in place to prevent danger.”
