HSE checklist highlights areas of likely enforcement

A significant amount of inspection guidance provided to HSE Inspectors is now available on the web. Work at height remains a significant hazard in most parts of the construction sector and it is helpful to be aware of the areas on which inspectors focus their enforcement action. The HSE internal guidance on work at height contains a Falls from Height Checklist summarising scenarios where a prohibition notice (PN), improvement notice (IN) or prosecution action is likely and situations where a “pre-harm prosecution” (no accident) prosecution might be taken.
