TELEHANDLER DEATH INQUEST

Inquest hears how telehandler fell on car at homes site

An inquest jury has returned a verdict of accidental death after a young man died at a Linden Homes site in January 2008. The Oxford Coroner heard that two men were on the site when a telehandler overturned crushing the car in which they were sitting. Jurors were told the telehandler was left on a slope overnight and was ‘supported’ but that tyre pressures were low and may have been a factor causing the incident. The family of the deceased is now waiting for the outcome of a report by the HSE.
